Slovenian Lucija KRKOČ, and Scottish Andrew DOUGLAS were the fastest runners at the first race of the 2015 Mountain Running World Cup.
Both were very strong in the last, steep 2km where the course takes the runners from the forest to open mountain meadows and also becomes more technical.
The winners are well known international runners: Lucija was the World Cup (Ex Grand Prix) winner in 2011 and several time World Ch. and European Ch. medallist and Andrew finished 2014 the World Champs in Italy on 21st position and 10th the European Championships in Gap. Also the second placed man and woman are runners with great reputation: Swiss David Schneider and Hungarian Merenyi Timea finished the World Cup 2014 on top 3 positions.
140 runners from 9 countries participated the race that had for the first time international character. " "Races for the kids were also organized as a part of the traditional race and more than 60 girls and boys run the short up&,down races in U12, U14 and U16 categories.
The race was also Slovenian national Championships and also Slovenian selection race for the European Championships.
