4. stage of the WMRA Grand Prix in Austria: preview of 4. Harakiri Mountain Running in Mayrhofen.

"Just a few days to go! On Sunday, 5. of August the Harakiri Mountain Running-race takes place in Mayrhofen for the 4. time.
The whole place is eagerly waiting for the athletes to arrive and the starting shot on Sunday at 10.00 a.m. in the center of Mayrhofen.
The crè,me de la crè,me of the international mountain running scene will meet to compete in the Mayrhofen - Hippach holiday region." "

Already four days before the starting shot will be heart many of the best mountain runners are registered in the race and the amount speaks for , itself.
Over 170 athletes will take part. Nearly 50 impressive names from about 20 nations are listed on the entry form.
For both men and women it will be hard work and a powerful run to reach a podiums place, because runners like the two-times winner of the silver medal at the World Championships in mountain running and last year's Harakiri Race Winner Azerya Weldemariam from Eritrea, the mountain running legend Jonathan Wyatt from New Zealand or the well - known Kenyan Isaac Kosgei will be focused to fight up the hill.
Additional top runners like Simon Lechleitner, the best Austrian Harakiri runner, the Eritrean Abraham Kidane Habtom, Anders Kleist from Sweden, Julien Rancon from France as well as Gabriele Abate and Gerd Frick from Italy.
And in between Markus Hohenwarter, seven times national champion in Austria, Markus Krö,ll as the local champ and many more.
In the women´,s race it will be the same fight to finish in a top position. The favorites are the last year's winner Antonella Confortola from Italy who has won the ISF Vertical Kilometer World Cup in Canazei as well as the ISF Vertical Chamonix, Emma Clayton from Great Britain who won the silver medal at the WMRA Grand Prix in France.
As in the men´,s race they are surrounded by many others top runners like Pavla Schorna - Matyasova from Czech Republic, Sabine Reiner and Susanne Mair from Austria, Matea Kosovelj from Slovenia, Valentina Belotti and Renate Rungger from Italy.
For the very first time, the Tyrolean Mountain Running Championships will be part of the Harakiri Mountain Race. The U16 and U18 categories for both men and women start at the Gschö,sswandhaus and consist of a shortened course. The general category starts together with Harakiri participants. Already over 70 runners are registered for the Tyrolean Mountain Running Championships.
The holiday region is looking forward to all top runners and also amateur athletes, who are willing to test themselves in this mountain contest. The run is definitely a suitable challenge for keen hobby athletes, with pain and suffering guaranteed, to be part of the experience and to compete with the world's elite.
And one thing is sure, the 4th Harakiri MR - Race will make all hearts beat faster.
