3rd WMRA Grand Prix race results

Marco de Gasperi in top form 3rd WMRA GRAND PRIX.

Marco de Gasperi (ITA), 4 times world champion in up and down mountain races proved himself ready for a 5th title by beating a strong field in Italy this weekend. The World mountain running trophy in New Zealand in September is on a course very similar to the 3 lap course for the 3rd WMRA Grand Prix in Sauze d’Oulx.
He was closely followed by his Italian team colleagues which augers well for a record breaking 21st consecutive World Trophy Italian team victory.
Vittoria Salvini (ITA) also showed that she is in fine form, showing good technique on the downhill stretches to win by the large margin of one and a half minutes from the young and rapidly improving Mateja Kosovelj (SLO)
