WMRA Welcome New Media Manager

Paul Larkins brings decades of experience to the World Mountain Running Association.

From the prime of his own running career in the late 1980s to his current work as a journalist, Paul has been involved in almost every aspect of running.

As an athlete he excelled in middle distance, breaking 4 minutes for the mile and representing both England and Great Britain at World and European level on the track and the road. He has remained heavily involved in the sport since his competitive career, managing and coaching athletes for England Athletics alongside his work in the media.

In recent years the mountains and the trails have played a greater part in Paul's personal running, participating in many races including the World Masters Mountain Running Championships last year in Clonmel, Ireland.

As a journalist Paul has a wealth of experience. He has been both writer and editor at numerous print and online running titles, including Athletics Weekly and Trail Running Magazine, and has reported from everything from Olympic and Commonwealth Games to the 2022 European Off-Road Running Championships in El Paso.
