Piztrivertical Results - World Cup Round 2

Full results (below) from the Piztrivertical race held on saturday 4 August.  Andrea Mayr (AUT) currently leads the overall World Cup on 210 points ahead of Valentina Belotti (ITA) on 165.  Francesco Puppi (ITA) has 195 points on the men's side 5 points ahead of Geoffrey Ndungu (KEN).

PiztriVertical World Cup Round 2 and New Record!

With a distance of 3.5km and 1000m of only uphill racing today's PiztriVertical race in Malonno, Italy is the shortest event on the World Cup...but certainly not the easiest!  With mass starts at 10am and 11am the Women and Men were battling it out up this steep course on a perfect day.  A new record of 38min 11s is a phenomenal time on a VK race and it was Andrea Mayr the out and out favourite who delivered this sensational time.

WMRA World Cup 2018: Mayr and Gikuni will lead field in PizTriVertical. with Degasperi, Puppi and Belotti for local fans.

 
After the great success along GrossGlockner in Austria, WMRA world cup, with high patronage of IAAF, will be back coming saturday in North italy in Malonno,mostly well known as village of mountainrunning for its historical tradition in this kind of race.

IAAF supports World Mountain Running Championships & Coaches Conference

2019 will mark the start a new era for the World Mountain Running Championships when it becomes an event fully supported by the IAAF after an extension of its close cooperation and partnership with the World Mountain Running Association (WMRA) was announced in Buenos Aires last week.  The new partnership was announced by Roberto Gesta de Melo, President of the South American Athletics Confederation (ConSudAtle), following the IAAF Council Meeting in Buenos Aires.... Link here to the full article.
